Organised by Let's Knit magazine, Saturday 2nd May is 'Yarn Shop Day'!
Bring along your current knitting/crochet project and join us for a 'knit and natter' (refreshments available all day.. and cake, of course!)
Have you got an abandoned project hiding behind the sofa because you got stuck? Bring it in on the day and one of our experienced knitters or crocheters will do their best to help you resurrect it!
Can't knit or crochet? Come and have a go!
We have just taken delivery of some gorgeous new yarns from The Fibre Co. with a selection of colours from 3 of their yarns: 'Road to China Light', 'Acadia' and 'Terra' (not available until Yarn Shop Day).
We will also be getting a selection of the new colours of Vivacious 4ply and DK from Fyberspates - due to arrive just in time!
Spinning demonstrations throughout the day (the fibre kind - no exercise bikes here!)
We are also planning to setup our rigid heddle loom (yarn isn't just for knitters!) so you can try your hand at weaving, or you could try weaving a coaster on a cardboard loom (no expensive equipment required!)
We will have some amazing hats on display made by Jools Elphick.
Balancing hand-knitting with machine-knitting to produce a textile with substance, Jools Elphick uses knitting machines with varying needle gauges to create pieces of head-wear for “the theatre of life”.
If you are interested in learning more about machine knitting, please let us know. We are planning to offer some workshops with Jools later in the year.
Make sure you come and visit us on the day and enter our free prize draw for the chance to win a £25 Folly Fabrics gift voucher (draw to take place at 4.30pm on Saturday 2nd May).
